My name is Robert Finalet and I have been a cockatiel hobbist and breeder since 1990. I live in Ontario , east of Los Angeles California.I began breeding cockatiels after a period of breeding the Border canary and showing them as well.

My original breeding stock came from a California breeder named Elsie Bergin, as well as imported German stock. I admired her elegant, long and aristocratic looking birds..

I do things rather unconventional by most BREEDERS standards:

I have a closed aviary which I credit for no diseases etc. in all these years of breeding. My birds are bred fully outdoors, mostly in small flocks of bonded pairs , five pairs to an aviary, 5X9x8.tall. ln addition, cage breeding to optimize trait qualities. I run between 25 to 35 pairs one to two clutches each depending on the particular pair.

As well as a balanced dry diet, birds are fed fresh organic greens and blooming sunflowers early spring through summer which are grown on my property .

I do not show cockatiels and therefore the conformation of my birds may differ from that of birds on the show circut.This is not to say, that I find many of the present show birds very gorgeous and I admire the work and dedication breeders have taken..
